We'll talk for about 15 minutes by phone or video. You share what's bringing you to therapy, I'll explain how I work, and we'll both get a feel for whether we're a good fit. No pressure, no obligation — fit matters more than anything in therapy, and I'd rather help you find the right person even if that isn't me.

Brainspotting is a brain-body therapy developed by Dr. David Grand, who discovered it while working with athletes and trauma survivors using EMDR. Both approaches help the brain process experiences that are "stuck," but Brainspotting uses fixed eye positions — "where you look affects how you feel" — and tends to be quieter and more flexible. You don't have to retell your story in detail for it to work.

I hold a Master of Social Work with a clinical focus and am licensed in Alaska as an LMSW, practicing under the clinical supervision of an experienced licensed clinician as I complete the supervised hours required for independent licensure. Practically, this means you get two sets of clinical eyes on your care: mine, and my supervisor's. It also means I can't bill insurance, which is why I keep my practice flexible in ways many providers can't, including in-home visits.

As a pre-licensed clinician, most insurance plans won't reimburse for my services, even out-of-network. Rather than pretend otherwise, I'm upfront: this is a private-pay practice. In exchange, there's no diagnosis required on your permanent record, no insurance company deciding how many sessions you "need," and complete privacy.

Yes — that's the heart of this practice. Sessions happen in your home, in a community space that works for you, or by telehealth. In-home therapy removes the barriers that keep so many people from getting help: transportation, childcare, mobility, weather, or just the exhaustion of adding one more errand. A small travel fee may apply outside my standard service area.

In person: Anchorage, Eagle River, Chugiak, and the Mat-Su Valley (Wasilla and Palmer). By telehealth: anywhere in Alaska.

Yes, I work with adolescents and adults. For teen athletes especially, performance pressure, identity, and anxiety often tangle together — this is a core focus of my work.

Yes, within the limits of the law. What you share stays between us, with narrow legal exceptions (such as imminent risk of harm or suspected abuse of a child or vulnerable adult), which we'll review together at intake. Note that as a supervised clinician, I consult with my clinical supervisor about my cases; she is bound by the same confidentiality standards.
